Ayurvedic Fitotherapy

Herbalism, or herbal medicine, is the use of plants (flowers, leaves, stems, bark, roots, seeds and fruits) and their extracts for the maintenance of health.

Since the dawn of time, people have used medicinal plants to treat health problems that have arisen and also used herbalism for preventative purposes. After approximately two centuries of neglect, the use of herbal medicines is gaining ground again in a society where people strive to stay healthy without resorting to chemicals, using medicines that work according to the body’s defences and the rhythms of Nature.

Usually, herbal treatments and products stand out because they are:

  • Harmoniously assimilable and free of chemicals, which act in isolation, often releasing unwanted toxins into the body.
  • More easily eliminated by the body.
  • In most cases practically free of side effects.

  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Creams and lotions for daily use and specific conditions (burns, analgesics, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, etc.)
  • Massage and daily use oils
  • Compounds for strengthening the immune system
  • Ear treatment
  • Various tinctures
  • Anti-pyretic compounds
  • Antiseptic/antibacterial and haemostatic compounds
  • Medicated honey compounds (anti-tussive, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic), medicated ghee and medicated aloe vera

 

  • To know the ayurvedic system – Rasa, Virya, Vipaka and Prahaba
  • Knowing and manipulating western and Indian plants according to the ayurvedic system
  • Prescription protocols

There are no prerequisites for taking this course.

However, it is necessary to consider that it is a challenging course with moments of theoretical and practical evaluation throughout the training.

It is recommended to have some knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology for a correct application and understanding of the therapies and techniques involved.
